Stan’s August Blog –

Doesn’t time fly, since the May election I have not had as much free time as I would have liked to walk round the whole Ward. There have been some big projects getting under way and I have been working hard on them, but there are still many smaller, local matters I am involved in pursuing

– the grass verges in Southam Road, between Shaw Green Lane and Laxton Meadow, I thanked the Highways Department for cutting the verges, but I then asked when the pathway was going to be clear, and the response from them was that the case was now closed.  So I’ve now got it re-opened with a new reference number ( 11452593 ).

– now we have the same problem on the corner of Barley Road. Highways cut the island grass by 129 Prestbury Road, but left the pathway at Barley Road.  Highways told me that it was not an emergency but would look at it, the reference number for that is (11463776).  I will be keeping an eye on both of the above.

Speeding in Southam Road.
I had a report back from the Police, that they had carried out a survey five times over a period and found that on average the speed was 24mph towards Prestbury and 26mph towards Winchcombe.
The other recorded figures were showing that compliance at the location is generally good.
That said I did some additional number-crunching, which showed that on the five occasions the site was visited there were 77 speeding offences, so it does look like this will become a camera enforcement site …. good news for Prestbury locals but do watch that speedo!

Priors Road re -surfacing – I hope you, like me, are enjoying the much smoother ride into and out of Prestbury now we’ve manged to get Priors Rd resurfaced after all this time.

I am out and about working for Prestbury and Cheltenham in both larger and smaller matters. Do please contact me if you think I can help – if I can’t I will try to find someone who can.

Regards Stan.
